Communicating Our Ideas
The President serves as a communicator between the student body, the USG, and the administration. So we need to be conscious of each leg of that relationship.

USG to Students:
Visibility for USg not Just ME!
The USG President doesn’t lead an organization of one. Our communication strategy should be about the organization as a whole, not just one person.
You should know who runs projects that impact your life. Most importantly, you should feel like USG impacts your life. Surveys are great but face-to-face is better. Let’s start:

Talk About USG Matters. Realize That USG Matters!

- An Open Forum moderated by the President at the middle and end of semester where you talk to senators and U-Councilors who run each project. There is no one better to talk about our progress than the people on the ground doing the work!
USG to Administrators: Motivation. Motivation. Motivation.
We need someone who can convincingly motivate administrators to shift priorities.
I believe that policy decisions are not made in a vacuum! Peer-to-peer advising, mental health, academics, sense of community—all of these are linked and choices in one area affect others. I am in a unique position to address the intersection of these areas, having worked on projects with administrators that touch on each.
Speaking to these intersections provides strong motivation for policy changes and when student and university interests align—that’s when things start to happen!
